Verified is Cordelia’s own standard, written by Cordelia and applied by Cordelia. This page sets out what a vendor does to earn it, and what it takes to keep it.
Most platforms take a vendor’s word. Cordelia does not. Booking a vendor abroad means trusting a stranger across a border, in a second language, with a large part of the budget for a day you cannot repeat.
The usual check is a document collection: a tax ID, a business license, a screenshot of an insurance certificate. The badge issues in forty-eight hours. Nobody visited the vendor, watched the team work, or called a single couple who had hired them.
The Verified Passport takes longer because it asks more. It is not a certificate issued by an outside body. It is our standard, set out here in full so you can hold us to it.
The kind of trust that is earned in person, not on a form.
Every vendor clears three phases before the Verified Passport is granted. Each phase is run by the Market Manager who lives in that city, speaks the language, and knows the local market well enough to see what a couple planning from Chicago cannot.
First, that the vendor is who they say they are.
Documents are easy to produce. Behavior is harder to perform.
A vendor who is excellent locally is not automatically ready for a couple planning from another country.
Every time. Most platforms ask a vendor to submit references. Cordelia calls them.
Was the contract honored as written? Did the final invoice match the quote, or did charges appear late? Was the behavior on the day consistent with the promises made before booking? Did the handoff after the wedding stay professional? Where we can, we call couples who planned from the United States, because that is the harder test. If we would not book this vendor for our own family, no Passport.
No Passport is granted until those three calls are made and written into the vendor’s file. Couples read the references on the vendor profile. Anonymized, and real.
The Passport is a standard, not a one-time test.
Every Cordelia Verified vendor goes through all three phases again, in person, once a year. Response times are watched continuously. Every wedding closes with a structured review. If a vendor’s standard slips, the Passport is suspended until the issue is resolved. If the slip is structural, the Passport is withdrawn and the vendor leaves the platform.
Verified is our own word, and we are the ones who have to stand behind it.
